Can you share what initially drew you to explore the intersection of AI and ‘Love’ for the music video, mainly focusing on the intersection between human and machine and the question of what makes us 'human'?

This is a fundamental philosophical question that should be taken seriously. If humanity can not answer the question "what is human" then how can we answer the question "what is a machine" Ever since humans started to invent the machine. Our similarities with them grew and there is no indication for this rise in similarities to stop any time soon. In fact, it is an exponential increase. Love or the perception of it is a human trait. And I liked the idea of incorporating this theme with this fundamental question of what makes us human.
Can you share some of your thoughts about virtual reality? How immersive do you think the technology will become? Do you fear or look forward to the evolution of the concept as technology progresses?
VR will get more immersive, and what we will now see on a 2D screen will even better in VR once the technology is comfortable enough to wear and to use for longer periods. In the long-term, I believe we will even shortcut the pathway through our eyes and connect directly with our neural net through for instance neuralink. I am certainly looking forward to this evolution in the future. This will be the only way to effectively use the power of AI not limiting it to our biological input and output restrictions.
How did your vision for Latent Space's psychedelic art style evolve?
This style evolved through experimentation and truly collaborating with AIs "hallucinations" especially at that time when GenAI was just at the beginning which two years later now feels like a decade ago in comparison to what's possible now.
How did you integrate technology into your artwork? What specific tools or techniques were crucial in achieving the distinctive style of "Latent Space"?
I use a combination of Unreal Engine, After Effects, Disco Diffusion, Stable Diffusion models which I trained specifically for the project.

What message or experience do you hope viewers take away from Latent Space?
That is up to every viewer to decide. It was left very experimental and open on purpose. However, the context when you were or are watching the video plays a significant role. If you have seen the video as it was released, it had a completely different effect at a time when this was among the very first couple long-format AI music videos on the globe highlighting cutting-edge technology. And now two years later it almost became a historical artefact to me in the history of generative AI.
Since last year's award, we would love to know what you have been working on, what is next for you, and how your use of AI has progressed over the year.
I am currently working on a very special project which I can not reveal much about other than that it will have to do with AI of course however in a very different context. I am looking forward to the release which will be hopefully before April!
